Executive Board
2025-2026

President: Paul Ranta
HELLO EVERYBODY! My name is Paul Ranta, and I am incredibly excited to be the GMT’s President for the 25-26 academic year! I can’t wait to see what this year brings and am thrilled to be working alongside our amazing executive board!
As President, I will be involved in tasks such as leading the planning and execution of our mission trips abroad, and I will make sure GMT at UCI is always at its best! Outside of GMT, I’m a 4th year Human Biology major on a Pre-Med track with the plan of becoming a physician. When I’m not stressing about school, I enjoy finding new food/drink spots, exploring new music, and staying active with activities like playing soccer or hiking. I have also recently gotten back into playing saxophone, so hmu if you have a jazz band that needs an alto 🙌
At the beginning of my second year, I wanted to become more involved in clubs on campus. I came across GMT and signed up which ended up being an amazing decision! I was exposed to so many new opportunities and people from which I formed long-lasting relationships and learned many valuable lessons.
I have since had the opportunity to go on the recent spring mission trip to Peru and the previous spring trip to Panama in 2024. They were both incredibly impactful experiences that resulted in many stories which I would love to share. I am also involved in several other extracurriculars on/off campus including research and student council, so please reach out to me about anything!
This club has truly been like a second home to me, and as I step into the role as President, I hope to build that same sense of connection and belonging for all of you. I’m looking forward to an amazing year together!!

Vice President: Cassie Medina
HELLOOOOOO EVERYONEEEE!!! My name is Cassandra Meliza Jequinto Medina, but you all could just call me Cassie. I’m this year’s Vice President, working alongside THE COOLEST CO PAUL!!! :) As Vice President this year, I will be leading the research team within our board on top of handling all internal and external affairs!
If you are unsure of who I am…let me tell you more about myself. I’m a fourth year Biological Sciences major from Sacramento, California. I’m on the pre-med route, hoping to pursue child and adolescent psychiatry. The most important thing to know about me is that I LOVE music. I play guitar, piano, ukulele, and the cajon. Fun fact: I love to play the guitar behind my head. Also, btw I love ALL types of music genres so…if you have any good song recs PLEASE EDUCATE ME!!!!
Now, how did I come to be a part of GMT? Well, I joined because at Celebrate UCI, I learned more about the club and fell in love with its mission. GMT upholds such a strong community through its medical mission trips, workshops, advocacy events, RAMP, food pantry, fundraisers, and socials. Shoutout to publicity for creating the wonderful flyers, newsletters, and posts letting us all know about upcoming events and recaps that capture the wholesome moments!!! Everyone I have met in GMT feels like family to me and it is my home away from home, which is why I am SO PASSIONATE about this club. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and for making more fun memories with all of you!!! Also, please feel free to reach out! It can be about literally anything, I’d LOVE to get to know you all!!! :)

Workshop Coordinator: Sandra Dawoud
Heyy everyone! My name is Sandra and I’m one of this year’s workshop coordinators with my baddielicious partner-in-crime Lena ;) I can’t wait to bring you health-related presentations! Expect a mix of hands-on activities, motivational guest speakers, and some chaotic but educational fun (learning is essential and cool 😜)!
I am an incoming third-year from Redlands, CA, double majoring in Biological Sciences and Psychology B.S., along with a minor in Medical Anthropology! I am working towards medical school, in hopes of specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology! Outside of class, I love reading, exploring new coffee shops in the area, hiking, and watching reality TV (I know it’s bad, but it’s so fun).
I had the intention of joining GMT after researching it before entering my first year at UCI. This simple search has led me to find a home away from home. I had the privilege to go abroad during Spring 2024 on a medical mission trip to Panama, which was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Additionally, I have consistently found opportunities to help support our local community, including weekly food pantries in Santa Ana, and other advocacy events!
Feel free to reach out and connect so we can continue growing the GMT Fam!!

Workshop Coordinator: Lena Ngo
HI GANG my name is Lena and I’ll be one of this year’s workshop coordinators alongside my wonderful, beautiful, baddie co Sandra:)) As your workshop coordinators, we’ll be in charge of setting up some super fun and awesome sauce workshops for you guys to engage those brain cells on a whole ‘nother level >:) We have a lot of great ideas planned, from hands-on workshops and mock-clinics, to guest speakers, so make sure to come out!
A little more about me- I am a fourth year Biological Sciences major from Riverside, CA…Raverside indeed. I am planning on going to med school in hopes of specializing in sports orthopedics, dermatology, allergy medicine, or internal medicine…still haven’t decided yet. Some things about me are that I love to cook, play sports, and just have a swell ol’ time with my friends doing any and all types of random things (lets just say mostly eat :D) If anybody wants to hit the ARC for some tennis or basketball LET ME KNOW >:))
I joined GMT because I saw all the great opportunities for me to grow as a future healthcare professional with all the workshops (very ironic), volunteering events, and all of the other events they provide as well. As I started coming out more and more, I soon realized how relatable, welcoming, and inclusive everyone is in this club and was able to develop some pretty awesome relationships along the way to say the least:) I’m hoping I can make the same lasting positive impact with all of you guys that GMT has for me and I seriously can’t wait to meet you all and get to know you guys! FEEL FREE TO HIT ME UP!! I'm always down to talk about literally any and all things :D

Advocacy Coordinator: Shivani Venkateswaran
Hey guys! My name is Shivani Venkateswaran and I am excited to be one of your advocacy coordinators for the 2025-2026 school year. I’ll be working alongside my super cool co-coordinator, Elena to host volunteering events every week!
A little bit about me, I am a 4th year Human Biology major on the pre-med track with a keen interest in Emergency Medicine and Trauma Surgery, but exploring other specialties as well! I am originally from Chicago, but I have been all over the place (ask me about my moving story). Some hobbies of mine include reading, classical Indian singing, ballet, and baking (cupcakes, pastries, cakes…you name it!).
My first year at UCI was a bit tough, as I had recently moved from Texas. Coming to a new state, everything was completely new and I thought I wouldn’t find my community. However, I knew I wanted to join a pre-health club to find like-minded people, and that’s when I found GMT! I joined fall quarter of my freshman year, and I couldn’t have made a better decision looking back. I absolutely loved the volunteering events, workshops, socials, etc…as well as the chance to go on clinic trips! This was something near to my heart as I had always wanted to travel and provide in underprivileged areas. Apart from these amazing opportunities, GMT became my second home.
I am honored to give back to GMT, and hope to give y’all an amazing experience just like I did! I am always down to hang out, so feel free to reach out if you need a baking buddy, or just want to talk!

Advocacy Coordinator: Elena Moyer
Hi everyone!! :)
My name is Elena Endriga Moyer and I will be one of your advocacy coordinators for this year along with my awesome co-coordinator Shivani! We’ll be working together to host some exciting volunteering events for you all every week!
A little more about me–I’m a 4th year Biology major on the pre-PA track from the Bay Area. I have a strong interest in nutrition and immunology, but I love learning pretty much everything about medicine and the human body. When I’m not studying, you can find me making matcha (ask me for matcha recommendations), hiking, reading, hanging out with my cat, or playing cozy video games like Stardew Valley.
I discovered GMT in my second year when searching for pre-health clubs, and am so glad I showed up to my first meeting! GMT has provided amazing opportunities for me to grow as a person and give back to the community, all the while being surrounded by some of the most friendly and genuine club members.
I am so grateful and excited to give back to an organization that has made my time at UCI truly special. I’m also so excited to meet new faces this year, so don’t hesitate to say hello!! :)

Project Coordinator: Arquimides Lopez
Hello everyone! My name is Arquimides, and I will be one of your Project Coordinators alongside the best co ever, Hannia! Together, we help run weekly food pantries and lead RAMP once a month at the Boys and Girls Club in Santa Ana. Through these projects, we aim to alleviate food insecurity as well as help underserved families be more involved in STEM-related activities!
A little more about myself: I am a 4th year Pharmaceutical Science major with a Health Informatics minor on the Pre-Pharm track. My current goal is to attend a pharmacy school with the hope of becoming a pediatric pharmacist. I was born in El Salvador but moved to South Central LA when I was around 8 years old. I enjoy going on hiking trails and exploring coffee shops. If you have any coffee shop, please let me know!
This will be my third year being part of GMT, and I couldn’t be more grateful for joining. I had a rough first year when it came to socializing, as I wasn’t involved with campus organizations as much. However, after joining GMT in my second year, I was able to find a sense of community and make new friends along the way. I enjoyed that everyone was open to converse with you and created a very welcoming environment. I can’t wait to see y'all at our next events! :)

Project Coordinator: Hannia Grados
Hi GMT fam :)
I’m Hannia Grados and I’ll be serving as this year’s Projects Coordinator alongside the best CO ever, Arqui!!<3
I am a 4th-year Human Biology major from Torrance, CA, currently on the pre-med track and exploring specialties like Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, and OB-Gyn! When I’m not studying, you’ll find me playing soccer, hiking, at the gym, painting, running, or spending time with my family back home!
I was first introduced to GMT during my freshman year when randomly joining their Intramural soccer team. I didn’t get involved right away because I was still adjusting to the college workload, but I officially joined in my second year! Since then, GMT has played a significant role in my time at UCI<3 It has connected me with some of the most down to earth and driven people I’ve met, and it’s given me opportunities that have helped me explore my passions and strengths!
Arqui and I coordinate events like the Food Pantry and RAMP at the Boys and Girls Club in Santa Ana, which also happen to be my favorite volunteer opportunities!! I’ve also been lucky enough to take part in two medical mission trips, to Panama and Peru, which were both unforgettable experiences that helped me discover my passion for medicine and global health.
It means a lot to me to now to help lead the organization that’s been such an important part of my time at UCI. If you ever see me around or want to connect, don’t hesitate to reach out :)

Financial Coordinator: Shooka Falahati
Hello hello! My name is Shooka Falahati and I’m going to be one of GMT’s Financial Coordinators this year, alongside my awesome co, Larissa <3 This year, I’ll be working to manage GMT’s finances and ensure our organization is sustainable, but I’m most excited to host fundraisers and budget for our large yearly events!
Some notes about me, I’m a fourth year Genetics Major from Irvine, California. I am currently pre-med, but am not totally sure what specialty I am interested in and I’m planning on taking some gap years after graduation to work and hopefully figure out what interests me :) I’m also a huge bookworm (follow me on Goodreads lol), and I love watching rom-coms or k-dramas when I have the time to binge them! I also consider myself somewhat of a foodie, so if y’all have good places I need to try, let me know (especially good matcha places hehe)!
When it comes to GMT, I joined fall quarter of my first year and it has honestly been one of the best decisions I made at UCI. The community here is so welcoming, and I have always felt at home since my first meeting! As an introvert, GMT has helped me come out of my shell, foster my leadership skills, and give back to my community with amazing people by my side. I have learned so much from our workshops, advocacy and projects events, and mission trips and I hope this space also provides that for someone this coming year! I can’t wait to get to know all of y’all and make amazing memories with the GMT fam!!

Financial Coordinator: Larissa Cortes
Hey everyone! I’m Larissa Cortes and I will be one of GMT’s Financial Coordinators along with the one and only Shooka this year!
I’m a third-year Public Health Science student (shout out Public Health no physics gang) with my sights set on Physical Therapy, though I’m not sure what specialization yet. I’m also part of the UCI Sports Med club, so you can usually find me there if I’m not at GMT. A little lore about me is that I’m on the rowing team and fueled by energy drinks for our 5 am practices. In my non-employed hours, you’ll probably catch me at the ARC doing some elaborate workout routine, but I promise it’s optimal. I’m always down for a side quest, even if it costs me some sleep (Groupon hates to see me coming).
I’ve had my eye on GMT since my first year here, but between other clubs and labs I wasn’t able to get involved until my second year. Joining GMT has not only introduced me to a wonderful group of people, but also opened opportunities to pursue healthcare experience one being our recent Panama mission trip. You don’t realize the full impact of healthcare until you’re in environments where it isn’t as accessible, which is another reason why I joined GMT. I’ve always liked tying myself to a sense of purpose, and GMT has helped foster that value within me which I hope to carry beyond the classroom. If you ever need advice or just some wisdom passed down, I’m always open to talk!

Social Coordinator: Queenna Pham
Hi guys! My name’s Queenna, and I’m one of this year’s Social Coordinators working alongside my amazing co Rose in planning fun social events every other week!!
I’m a fourth-year Biological Sciences major also minoring in Medical Humanities. I’m planning to pursue becoming a physician assistant after taking a few gap years. Since I’m from the Fountain Valley area and commute to school, I struggled a lot with making time to socialize with other students in my first year. I was first introduced to GMT at the start of my second year after their Instagram profile was randomly suggested to me on my feed. After stalking their page, I really liked how they provided a ton of opportunities to meet other students and help the community both locally and internationally, which encouraged me to join.
It’s an honor for me to now be one of those people to provide other students with the amazing social opportunities that GMT has given me. I’ve gotten to know some amazing people through GMT’s events, such as the mentor-mentee program and winter retreat. I’m really excited to continue building that sense of community this year and can’t wait to meet many of you at our upcoming events!

Social Coordinator: Rose Guerrero
Hi everyone!! My name is Rose Guerrero, and I’m so excited to be one of your Social Coordinators this year, working alongside my incredible co, Queenna! We’ve got some amazing socials planned, and I can’t wait to help create fun, welcoming spaces for everyone to connect!
I’m a third-year Biological Sciences major from OC on the pre-PA track, and I joined GMT during fall quarter of my freshman year. What really drew me in wasn’t just the sense of community, it was the mission. From food pantry events to advocacy work and clinic trips, GMT has helped shape my love for healthcare by giving me the opportunity to work alongside some of the most supportive and passionate people I know. The chance to serve both local and global communities through hands-on work is what makes this organization so impactful and unique.
This past year, I had the opportunity to travel to Peru on one of our medical mission trips, where we provided care in underserved areas. Working directly with patients, supporting local healthcare teams, and seeing the impact of our service up close was truly life-changing. It deepened my passion for healthcare and reminded me why this path means so much to me.
Outside of class and GMT, you can usually find me at a baseball game, trying out new food or coffee spots, painting, cooking, or exploring new places with friends. I’m so grateful and excited to give back to an organization that has shaped such a big part of my college experience. I’d love the chance to get to know you all, so feel free to reach out or say hi!! <3

Internal Publicity Coordinator: Carlos Hernandez
What it do Flight Crew, FTC, Flight Team Stand Up! Hey y’all my name is Carlos Hernandez and I am the Internal Publicity Coordinator for the ‘25-‘26 year! All the flyers, apparel, pictures, and designs are done by me and my amazing co, Dena Falahati!
I am a fourth year Human Biology Major from Ontario, CALIFORNIA, not Canada 🙂. I am planning to go med school and hopefully specialize in primary care like Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine. Some things about myself aside from school, I LOVE soccer, music, building computers, films, shows and gaming. Specifically I’m a die hard FC Barcelona FAN (VISCA BARCA 💙♥️) and I love The Weeknd and Rauw. If you’re curious about the position, I play its goalkeeper.
How did I find my way into GMT you may ask? Well I discovered GMT through AIF in my third year and one of the first people I ever met was Paul (our President) and he gave me a free T-shirt for spinning the wheel! From there, I went to their first meeting with a couple of friends and I just really liked the family-like environment of the club. It’s funny because none of my friends continued on, BUT I stayed and the journey with GMT is something I will never forget. I was able to make unforgettable memories and meet new friends that I can safely call family now! I’m excited to meet all of you and welcome you to the GMT family!

External Publicity Coordinator: Dena Falahati
Hello hello! My name is Dena Falahati and I am this year's External Publicity Coordinator. I will be running our Instagram and weekly GMT newsletter, as well as handling our pubbing events like AIF! I’ll be working alongside my awesome co, Carlos, so keep an eye out for all our publicity this year!
A little bit about me, I am a fourth year Microbiology & Immunology Major, originally from right here in Irvine :) I am on the pre-med track and am currently most interested in pediatrics or women’s health, but knowing me, that’s probably going to change. If I’m not studying, you can find me hanging out with my closest friends. I’m really big on quality time, so going out to eat with friends, or just having long, random conversations is my favorite form of self care! I also love reading and listening to new music, like pop, kpop (especially txt), rnb, and latin (I would love some new recs, my playlists need an update)! I also discovered the joy of matcha this past year, so cafe hopping has drained my bank account, but anything for matcha :)
I joined GMT my first year here at UCI, when I was really nervous about coming to a university so large. Being a commuter made me feel less like I would be able to find a community on campus, but GMT quickly proved me wrong. The warm atmosphere was so welcoming, and all the people here have become some of my closest friends. Also getting the opportunity to work with underserved communities here in OC and abroad on clinic trips really made my experience at UCI incredible. I am so so excited to get to share this experience and GMT love with y’all this upcoming year!
